Noble deals on scrapbooking products can be found in a lot of non-scrapbooking stores, in bargain and clearance sections, at close-out stores like Big Lots, in dollar stores, and big box stores like End. These stores get a lot of attention, and tips for great buys are passed from scrapbook friend to scrapbook friend like wildfire. One settlement bin not to forget, however, is a garage sale.
If you find a crafter’s garage sale, you could be in for a treat. Everything from patterned wallpaper and embellishments to tools and rubber stamps could be waiting for you. It’s possible that you will find used tools, weakness for scrapbook kits, half-sheets of scrapbook paper, and previously-loved tools, but if you’re careful that the items are in gentle working order, you can get them for a steal.
Also keep an eye out for vintage clothing and sewing items. Buttons, ribbons and trim, pins and old tags and labels make tracks terrific embellishments. Vintage items like these could lend a great authenticity to heritage scrapbooking. If you like Jenni Bowlin’s opulence, garage sales could be the place for you. Their trash will definitely be your treasure.

Some of the photos are sepia tones and some are dusky and white
When working with patrimony albums or vintage photos I tend to use the dark jewel colors-- if you know the person in the photo and be acquainted with what their favorite colors are then you could always use those colors, that helps in keeping with the personality of that person. There are alot of great papers now that you can use for estate photos, but play with using some color--alot of times just layering colors both patterned and solids works fast depending on the look you're wanting. there's alot of scrapbooking galleries on-line you could look through to get ideas,. Don't be regretful to use color, black and white papers with black and white photos tends to cause the photos to vanish and blend into the background . . . a fine printed patterned paper works great--mat your photos a unite times to really make them stand out. Hot off the Press has some great heritage papers and their paper books around with ideas on mixing papers & colors too.

I am second-rate to do that and I am needing some ideas...do you have pics?
I have not but that's a talented idea. There are a lot of Disney kits out there and all look the same. Doing the vintage look you could even use a more original mickey mouse look. It'll be callous to find embellishments but you can make your own if you have a cricut. Sorry I have no pictures to share. Have fun with it.

Im troublesome to make a scrapbook that looks like its from 150 years ago. Can anyone tell me what to print the pictures on and how to make them look old? Thanks!
You can always "age" any article with a tea stain. Here's some info:

Also, here are some collages that might give you some inspiration:

Also, can you print your pictures in a Sepia tone?
