If the Bible is the most purchased book, where does the money go?

If the Bible is the most purchased book, where does the simoleons go? Does it go to one person? Does it get donated to the churches?

churches don't make known Bibles; publishing houses do, as in the case of any other book. the money, i assume, goes to the publisher and to the editors.

What percentage of a purchased book does the author recieve?

When you buy a book at a bookstore, what percent of the percentage goes to the author? (Considering the author is alive)

That depends on his/her compress, but in general, an author receives 6-10% for a paperback and 10-15% for a hardcover. This would be from an actual bookstore sold at retail appraisal. When you buy them from discount stores such as Walmart or Target, it's much less. When you can get them directly from the publisher, it's more, but that's not likely unless you're talking tight-fisted press or indie authors.

Also, if an author receives an advance, which happens less all the time, she'll only start receiving royalties after the sales go over what she already got as an move forward. So that advance may be the only money she ever sees from the book sale.

I found a photo in my used philosophy book that I had purchased online. How can I reunite the photo w/ family?

The envisage is of an Asian man (possibly Filipino?) and two children. What is the best way to reunite the photo with the person who lost it. I have already emailed the suite who I purchased the book from. Their very short response was that there was no way to know where the book came from. I just can't bring myself to throw the picture away.

Sunday Salon

This history week I spent several days in NYC. After returning home, I found myself in a funk. Or what I refer to as a MOOD. Being away was wonderful and relaxing. I had not realized how much I NEEDED to get away. . .to unprejudiced escape my hectic life for a few days.

Now that I'm back, all I can think about is: how did I move at the speed I did before I left? Trying to return to my drill has been daunting, at best. So, needless to say nothing has gotten done, including reading and blog posting. I think I'm very feeling the after shock of how stressed and tired I've become these last few months.

I've decided to take it easy on myself for awhile to help me slip back into my routine. One of the things I've left go is my personal challenge of not returning any library books unread. I in point of fact did a good job with this prior to my mini-vacation. I managed to read over half of them (all new releases) before I decided to pull up this challenge. I now realize that there are other books I prefer to read (both library and my own books) instead of reading based on due dates.

I've also been working on incorporating reading more of my deprecating books each month and I realized my library challenge was interfering with that. I really want to start reading more of my own books. At one intent, I was so excited to read them, only having that excitement fade or be placed on a newer, purchased book. Often times I read awful reviews for a book and immediately check to see if my library owns it. If it does, then I will add my name to the wait list.

Now, I've decided to be a bit more eclectic to what I add to my TBR List. Let's face it. . .I can't read every book that has a great review. I added a "Notes/Comments" column...
