Raiders bounce back from Week 1 loss The Associated Press
22.05.00
ALAMEDA, Calif. — For all the encouraging signs the Oakland Raiders found in a ripen-opening loss, there were almost as many discouraging ones in a Week 2 win.
From JaMarcus Russell's horrific inaccuracy to allowing 409 yards of out-and-out offense to a broken left leg that will sideline left guard Robert Gallery for at least a month, there wasn't a lot to officiate at following the 13-10 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs.
Except for the result.
"Somehow, we found a way to win," coach Tom Cable said Monday. "We pity good about that, but we also recognize that you've got to keep this real. This doesn't make the season. This doesn't make anybody characterize oneself as like we've arrived, or anything like that. We've got a heck of a lot of work to do."
After outplaying San Diego for much of the game before losing the opener 24-20, the Raiders managed to get over it out the win in Kansas City despite being outplayed until the final drive. Two turnovers and nine penalties by the Chiefs kept the Raiders in the nervy and Russell shook off the worst day of his career to lead the game-winning drive.

Oakland Raiders?
Jul 12, 2007 by ♥Diana♥ | Posted in Football (American)
how do you ponder Oakland Raiders will do this year , with a new coach and all??
hate to agree, and even tho i love the team but it is true, they do suck, esp last year, only if they played their time like they played in the pre-season, when they won all the games, but hopefully they will make it someplace and not last....again
Living in the Bay Size the Oakland Raiders are the home team I root for. I honestly thought that Randy Moss coming to the Raiders in 2005 was the finest thing that could happen to them especially with Kerry Collins' (should have re-signed him) rocket for an arm but that all kind of went downhill fecklessly. Last year Randy Moss played like sh*t and was really bringing the team morale down because he justifiable didn't want to be in Oakland. Considering the ruckus Moss caused last year I think that the Raiders can only get better from here on out after unloading him insomuch as he wasn't even trying in the games and all he was doing was complaining every week.
Drafting Jamarcus Russell was a right move I believe but I really don't think he's going to make any real difference for a few years. Signing Dominick Rhodes in unlock agency was a step in the right direction but now that he's been suspended for the first 4 games of the season that is going to hurt them everything considered we all know how much production (or lack there of I should say) Lamont Jordon brings to the table. We've got a decent group of unsophisticated receivers in Porter, Taylor, Gabriel, Curry, Whitted, and Williams. The Raiders still have one of the toughest defenses in the NFL in my idea and they are only going to get better now that they have a veteran like Darius to add to the leadership of Warren Sapp. They've got the best backer in the league and have a decent kicker who packs a BOOT so special teams isn't really a worry. Absolutely all the Raiders have to do is find some kind of middle ground with their offense to make them productive and capable of converting on 3rd down and the Raiders will easily go 8-8. This isn't succeeding to be their year as they will have double digit losses but in a few years I say look for Oakland to start to emerge onto the NFL's radar.

they'll be auspicious to be 8-8 with all the criminals & crackheads on the squad. The AFC West will be won handily by the Chargers since the other 3 teams are rebuilding around callow QBs.
the rankings will be:
San Diego
Kansas City
Denver
Oakland.

Where is the best place to sit at an oakland raiders game?
Sep 22, 2007 by emily | Posted in Football (American)
I pauperism to buy tickets for the Raiders/Bears game in Oakland. But I have no idea what a good seat is at a football game. Is it like the theatrics, where if you're too close you miss most of the game? Thanks for your help!
Ok, so spare me your opinions on what teams are worth seeing, if you don't differentiate about the stadium, I don't want your abnoxious answer.
My husband loves the bears and has wanted to see them play since he was a seldom boy. I could care less what team is winning or if you think your team is best.
As big as your not on mount davis (3rd deck) most of tyhe seats are good. Like another poster said if your first deck get at least 20 rows up for a ameliorate view..... if your in the 2nd deck get as close to the front as you can. If your husband is a Bears fan I wouldnt suggest the blackhole and if hes wearing a bears jersey be at the ready for some trash talking but as long as you are a good sport about it no one will cause problems ( I was at the raider/lion devil-may-care and we had fans from both sides high fiving each other). For the poster that said county jail you mess up the raiders players with the bengals....the bengals are the ones doing time. GO RAIDERS and I hope to see you at the game we will be tailgating texture free to come up and say hi.
