New Jersey, New York Taxes Are Worst for Business, Study Says Bloomberg

Sept. 22 (Bloomberg) -- New Jersey and New York are the worst of the 50 U.S. states for traffic because of their tax burdens, a study by the Tax Foundation says.

The two ranked 50th and 49th respectively in the analysis of state personal, corporate, sales, oddity and unemployment- insurance taxes in the year that ended June 30. The study , released today by the Washington, D.C.-based alliance, said South Dakota and Wyoming, which have no corporate or individual income taxes, have the best affair climates.

As tax receipts fell in the economic recession, U.S. states faced a combined $165 billion scarcity in revenue for the fiscal year that started for most on July 1. New Jersey and New York boosted personal tax rates to inform appropriate close their gaps.

New York’s new top rate of 8.97 percent “is more than 30 percent higher than its past top marginal tax rate,” said Kail Padgitt, an economist who led the study. “The state-townswoman combined rate is the highest in the nation” because New York City also raised personal income taxes, he said.

Here is my sitatuation. I am working at a job I odium and want to become a writer. I need somehow stop working at my corporate job so I can make the transition. I am currently messing up inadequately at work (on the path to being fired) So, do i TRY to get fired? Do I sit down and tell them it is in our best interest that i quit? Any advice would be great!

it is a prodigious ambition that you want to be a writer but ya gotta eat!!! if you hate your job just get another.maybe a part time? this will consider you to write. also telling a company you work for that it will be in their best interest to fire just won't wash. remember that it is the employer who PAYS for unemployment, i don't have in mind that they are going to say ok. you may also be denied benifits and have to go to a hearing where your real intentions may come to light, then no benifits. i over that just getting a part time job will serve you better. also i have friends who are writers and they work 6 months out of the year and come unemployment for 6. i have never lost a case in labor court but you better have some better excuses than becoming a writer.

If you toil bady and try to get yourself fired. More power to you, but remember that your employer can contest paying unemployment and use that against you.

I'm sure that they'd be happy to have you leave off. They don't have to pay unemployment to you and then they can get someone into the position that wants to be there or at least is doing a good job.

New York State Unemployment Question on the Hearing Process?

Has anyone ever renounce there job because of being belittled and put down daily by there boss? If so did you apply for unemployment based on this and how did it turn out? Has anyone asked for an unemployment hearing and won? Please give details.

For all the millions of people on here getting bad view : I see this asked all the time: "Can you quit and still collect?" YES YES AND YES ...but there are rules involved: Of direction you cant just quit for no reason..but if you quit due to stress... demotion...unfair employers ..or if you were hired for one job and they gave you something abundant...etc... you CAN collect... first you must exhaust all options in trying to resolve the issues with your employer..connotation ..talking with all supervisors managers HR and GMS until a resolution is found. (this may be useless but it must be done ).If your issue cant be resolved and you feel you have to quit you then will have to go to a hearing. At this hearing you must be found that you have exhausted ALL options in resolving your issue and that quitting was your last option!! ( you should document all talks with handling soo you can keep your facts straight).( if you feel you need help you can contact a lawyer.) I have been thru this and i didnt have a advocate and i won. they appealed again and i won again. so it can be done. You dont have to put up with belittlement. hope this helps . :) (if ya have anymore questions let me remember.. i know it sucks to go thru this)

HOw to get ahold of a real person when you call new york state unemployment?

im in in the offing status and i just want to know what the hold up is because it takes a week from you get approved to even get your card to get the spondulix off. Every time i call they say pending status and it never tells you how to talk to a representative. Is there any numbers you have to press to directly talk to a rep?

when you call try hitting 0, sometimes it works. You may have to do it a yoke of times per phone call.
