So all you baseball fans have seen the very renowned play made my Derek Jeter in Game 3, 2001 ALDS. (The backhand flip to Posada in foul territory on the first dishonourable side to tag out the runner at home plate). Anyway, my question is why was he there in the first place? Isn't it the pitcher's job to back up a throw to home platter, not the shortstop?

your real he shouldnt have been there, which is ultimetly why that play is famous. However, it was not the pitchers job to be there instead it was the second baseman. But therightfielder over threw the cut off man(the favour baseman) and jeter anticpated, and had the forsight to see that the cutt off man was being overthrown
