Take a school trip to the local museum guardian.co.uk

When the UK's smaller specific museums discovered that the Natural History Museum was spending £78m to create its new Darwin Centre, it might be imagined that some jealous curatorial gnashing of teeth was to be heard across the regions.

But though money certainly talks in terms of creating odd educational experiences for the crowds of pupils who daily enter our biggest museums, it seems that a multi-million hammer budget is far from essential in order to offer schoolchildren a memorable encounter with the nation's heritage.

"I don't suppose you do need a big budget to create that sense of excitement," says Trudie Cole, learning and access chief at Poole Museum in Dorset. "What you need is lots of creativity and the ability to capture children's imaginations - though I take for granted with a bigger budget you can perhaps buy more staff who have that."

Of course, it is going to be hard for any museum to compete with exhibitions like the newly opened Conscience-stricken Trenches, at London's Imperial War Museum, which, as well as having the advantage of the Horrible Histories brand, has also had the funding needed to form a replica WWI trench that brings children face to face with the rats, lice, mud, blood, amoral food and stinking toilet facilities endured by soldiers in the Great War.

What is the Mississippi Museum of Natural Science like in Jackson Mississippi ?

I longing to know about some of the reviews from people who visited the Mississippi Museum of Natural Science, whether from Mississippi and/or other states. Also, how is the progress of the founding in Jackson, Mississippi ?
I have seen the museum's website, and I plan to visit the institution in the future.

How to get to the Museum Of Natural History from The Bronx?

how to get to the museum of natural information from the bronx. nearby station is morris park.

Morris Commons on the "5" I am guessing.

Take the "5" to 149th Street/Grand Concourse. Interchange for the UPTOWN "4" train and go to 161st Street/Yankee Stadium (one stop). Go downstairs and haul for the downtown "B" train which will take you to the 81st St/Museum Of Natural History stop (if no "B" is available, take the "D" cavalcade but get out at 125th Street for a downtown "C", which will take you to the 81st St stop.)

Or if you want, you can change for the "2" carriage at 180th Street, then change for the "1" at 96th Street to go to the 79th Street station. If you're up for the walk you can do that (it's 3 blocks) or take the eastbound M79 bus to Significant Park West.
