Floyd Mayweather 2.0: Growing Pains Bad Left Hook (blog)
17.09.09
Floyd Mayweather's up to date outbursts have begun to achieve their purpose: we're paying attention to Floyd. We were distracted by Manny's complete greatness and by Marquez drinking his pee, but now the boxing spotlight is right where Mayweather wants it, and if the glare seems a bit withering at the weight, "there's no such thing as bad publicity," Floyd seems to have assumed, and even hardened boxing observers have been pulled in by his strange exhibition at this point. As planned.
That's good for camp Mayweather, as they attempt to deal with the new media environment in this, Mayweather's pale-"retirement" phase. During his hiatus, opinions about PBF have evolved; the boxing world has moved on; Pacquiao has emerged as nothing impolite of a living legend; and the glare of the media has sharpened, putting Mayweather's incongruities and flat-out bullshit in an even less merciful light than he experienced previously (the blatant cynicism of his "retirement," I believe, put the test to all of our bullshit thermometers, no?).

To what extent was president JFK's personality and image responsible for his impression of "greatness"?
May 20, 8553 by xplicit_star_1 | Posted in Other - Politics & Government
There is something more than image and identity that gives a president an aura of greatness. John Kennedy offered us the one thing that a great president can give this boondocks. The idea that we can be a better society, the image that we have the ability to strive for a more just and caring nation and world. Maybe the biggest thing a president can do is show us what could be and encourage us to reach for that dream. This is one thing tha John Kennedy did very well.

how did president JFK's image and personality affect our impression of his "greatness" today?

how was his luminary in orrice resopnsible for the way we think about him in todays time?
how did his personality in office affect the way we think about him today?
I over it left people with a very favorable impression of him. But that may have changed if he was not assassinated. The US public only knew him for a short beat.

hey Christians, and others, man was created in god's image?
May 20, 6137 by there's an app for that | Posted in Religion & Spirituality
ok so i've been seeing people saying constantly that man was created in god's image. but i also heard somewhere that if you in actuality saw god, the greatness of this being woudl be so above what your human body can tolerate that you would just about keel over and die. now when i see a man walking down the street, not once have i keeled over and died. so how could man mayhap be created in god's image?
I don't muse on being created in the image of God has anything to do with looking like God. Check out the link.

Jesus wanted to get away from the demands of the crowds so that He could spend some ‘dignity time’ with His disciples. It wasn’t easy to escape the paparazzi that followed Him. Most wanted Him to effect for them - a miracle, an exorcism, make wine, make bread. And there were the religious nuts who wanted to contest and argue the finer points of theology with Him.
Don’t take this the wrong way. It’s not that He couldn’t deal with all of this. Had the whole world lined up at the door, He would have taken the time to heal each and every one of them and cast out every demon in them and answered every ruse question thrown at Him. But this is not why He came into the world. Each and every one whom He miraculously healed would still die in their sins. For every demon he cast out, a legion more were immediate to move in and repossess. No matter how many arguments He won, there would be no end to the reasons men and women can come up with to deny His claim to be the way, the truth and the autobiography.
Jesus came into the world to redeem the world and to make all things new. And you don’t do that by treating the symptoms, which is all that the crowds were hoping for from Him. And maybe that’s as much as you’re hoping for from Jesus too.
But these were reasonable the horderves and appetizers, just the signs pointing to the real thing. Jesus came into this existence to treat the root cause of all of our sickness and disease and demon possession and rejection and hunger and wish for.
The only treatment for the kind of total cure that He came into the world to administer was His death and His resurrection from the extinguished. “The Son of Man is going to be delivered into the hands of men, and they will kill him. And when he is killed, after three days he will rise.” Jesus Christ came into the in seventh heaven, not to apply temporary fixes and measurable improvement to our life on the way to death and the grave. He came to launch a permanent renewal, an eternal life that neither disease nor demons, nor ignorance nor the grave can overcome or take away.
