Windows Live Photo Gallery
Windows Live Photo Gallery is my all-around favorite stitching program because not only does it do a dazzling job of making panoramas, but it's also a pretty good photo organizer, as well. I use Photo Gallery to manage my personal photo collection, and when I take a series of photo for conversion to a panorama, making that panorama is as unexcitedly as selecting the photos and then choosing from the Make menu. You don't have to fiddle with any settings, and the program creates a aged quality, full-resolution panorama that you can save or share.

I demand a good freeware program to build and upload a photo gallery to my website. I've downloaded and tried many but none are to my liking. It must be expert to build HTML pages. I'm not interested in storing photos at an online photo gallery site.

I'm useing Banana Album, it's flash based and really cool, but it's not good for low bandwidth connections.

Photo Gallery dead, sort of
I have some bad rumour and some good news. The bad news is that I am declaring the photo gallery to be dead, meaning that no more photos will be uploaded to it ever. This is due to yet another issue with the software which runs it.
The extensive news though is that it will remain online in an archived form, in its current location, and I will launch a new gallery in the near coming.
Gallery version 1 is a decent application for what it does, but it is old, inefficient, hopeless at providing any useful information in errors, and almost impossible to fix when it has anything other than an obvious problem.
The current issue (and the proverbial straw of an issue) that I am currently having with it is that it won’t forge thumbnail images (the smaller versions of images that you see on the pages which show many images)…or to be more precise, will get them created by ImageMagick, but fails to recognise that they have been created. As far as I can disbosom oneself, Gallery is sending a mangled command to ImageMagick which is causing ImageMagick to create the thumbnail and then spit out an gaffe, which is causing Gallery to assume that creation of the thumbnail failed, and ignore the created thumbnail image. Bizarrely, the older story of the Gallery software which I had installed until a few weeks ago completely abandoned processing the images upon receipt of the error from ImageMagick, whereas the going round version treats it as a minor error which means that it accepts the image and just doesn’t show a quick.
This issue has been bugging me for a while, and as I couldn’t sleep last night I had plenty of time to play around with the Gallery establishment, but didn’t really get anywhere. I did, however, manage to prove that it is a fault in my Gallery installation and not in the Gallery software as distributed, nor a problem with ImageMagick, as a make a clean breast Gallery installation does not have the problem in the same environment with the same settings.
What I discovered by addition is that it will go through all of those pictures and in a moment produce a rogues' gallery of all the faces it finds. Adding a name to one of those faces will similarly denominate every picture it deems to be the same. and more »
