A domino is an image with a pattern of colors that you can use to change an underlying photo. Imagine, for example, a sort of digital stencil--the concealment limits what parts of a photo you can change when you apply a digital effect.

Unlike real-world stencils, though, a cloak can be semi-transparent, allowing part of the effect through, almost as if your stencil was porous. The closer your mask is to opaque, the less so to speak bleeds through. The more transparent, the greater the effect has on the image. So, by controlling the opacity of various parts of your guise, you can achieve some very sophisticated effects.

While some photo editing programs make you work directly with masks, I've found that most modern photo editors try to untangle the process. You might not even know that you're working with a mask at all. That's the case with Adobe Photoshop Elements : Under the hood, we're fiddling with masks, but that time never comes up. I thought you'd like to know that's really what's happening behind the scenes, though--especially if you're using a unlike photo editing program, and you don't see the tools I talk about in this article. Instead, look for a "mask layer."

There are many strange programs you can buy or download for a free trial.
Photoshop is the popular one.
I personally prefer Coral Characterize Shop Pro.
There's also Fireworks and ... Paint. Haha, just kidding.
As for fixing blemishes and such, you necessary to recognize all the different tools that are being offered in the program and you need to know how to use them.

photo-editing?

ok i desire to mae a graphic thats got a black background, with a black cross. the only thing that shows the cross is there is a trifling that would be shining behind it. its like there is a bright light behind the cross, but all you can see it the rays shining around the edges. can someone tell me how to do that on a photo editing program?
i have photoshop cs3 and dye.net

Obscurity inconspicuous and cross need to be on separate layers. Select the background layer, or, even better, create a new layer between the spotlight and the cross. Then, in the filters menu, click on render and then lens flare. Play around and find a setting that provides the insist on kind of light effect you want to see.

What photo editing software highlights just certain objects and leaves the others black and white?

I am deficient to purchase professional photo editing software that will help me highlight a certain object in the picture. Example: I homelessness a black and white photo with only the blue eyes showing in color. What software should I buy and it this an easy task to achieve?

In PhotoShop, you can hand-pick the blue eyes and then go to "Select" and inverse the selection. Now everything but the blue eyes will be selected. You then go under Epitome > Adjustments > Hue/Saturation and desaturate everything. That will turn everything to black and white except the eyes.

I'll try one and link it here.

OK, there's an example for you. There are other ways to complete this result, but I this worked really fast. You can also change the color -- make everything black and snow-white but give him red eyes.
