No course of study we’ve tackled in the first four months of the Lens blog has touched quite so raw a nerve as our Sept. 4 task (” Behind the Scenes: To Publish or Not? “) about a decision by The Associated Press to distribute a photograph enchanted in Afghanistan by Julie Jacobson. It showed Lance Cpl. Joshua M. Bernard, 21, of the Marines, after he was mortally wounded during a Taliban trap last month. The picture was made available to A.P. members over the objections of John Bernard, Corporal Bernard’s pater, and of Defense Secretary Robert M. Gates . Some members of the A.P. cooperative chose to publish it. Others, like The New York Times, showed it only on their Web sites. Still others avoided using it utterly.
To gauge from more than 650 comments, readers felt passionately about the question. But many did not see it as a black-and-white issue. There weren’t at the end of the day two sides to the discussion as much as there was a continuum of opinion. Many who strongly favored the A.P.’s decision acknowledged that the additional affliction brought to Corporal Bernard’s family was a high price to pay for public enlightenment. Many who strongly opposed the A.P.’s resolution to release the picture conceded that the news organization was within its lawful right to do so.

Who made the black and white photo of Mannequins in early 20th century?
How does one convert an older Black and White photo to the true color of the item photographed?
Ok, I have an old black and white photograph from the early 1900's. I would like to try and see what the valid colors were. The picture is of an old house. Is there software that can do this if so what is it. Can this be done, is it easy. Thanks for any help.
I do not know the original colors, and neediness the original colors or shades of the original. Based on current response seems not possible.
As mentioned above, there is no soft way.
Photoshop has a feature that will allow you to replace a color or various hues of a color with another color.
Archetype -> Adjustments -> Replace Color
However, if you don't know what the original colors were, there is no way to get an accurate reprint. You don't know for unavoidable if the shirt was blue, yellow or even pink.
This process can be time consuming, however it can produce a nice looking reprint even if the colors are to a certain off.
