The parade, on view through Oct. 5 at the Tacoma Art Museum, includes 39 winning works chosen from 3,232 entries submitted by students across the circumstances.

“This is the largest high school photo contest in the nation,” said Kelly Atkinson, program governor for the competition.

Photos are in color and black and white; they feature subjects from people to architecture to still life.

“This started as an totally traditional black-and-white contest in the ’80s,” Atkinson said. “The images were shot on glaze and made in darkrooms. Then color photography started creeping its way into the high schools.”

These days, new technology is no longer creeping – it’s sustained at full speed.

“Digital has come on in and pretty much taken over,” Atkinson said. “Ethical two years ago, entries were about 50 percent traditional black-and-white and 50 percent digital.

Now it’s presumably more like 70 percent digital.

Hand Coloring black and white photos with watercolors?

Does anyone be aware any specific process or tips for coloring Black and White photographs with watercolors?
I did it once in middle school, but I'm not too sure if I remember how to do it en masse. I would really appreciate any tips or suggestions, or even instructions would help.

I've cast-off photographic dyes. They sell them in sets at the better camera stores. You need to work slowly, so you're not putting too much color on an compass at once. Little at a time does it.

Would you use color or black white photos for a candlelit renewal of vows? ?

Well, hubby told me today he wants candle unimportant, romance, and soft music for our renewal of vows! OK.. He finally gave me something to work with. So when we were talking about photography, I couldn't find to many color photos with candle diverting dismiss in the background on the internet.

To those of you who had an evening wedding or get together. Did you go with color or black and white photos to mark your special event?

I would in point of fact go with both if at all possible. Gives you a variety and both are very nice!

Black and White Photos and coloring them in by hand?

I after to be able to print a black and white photo and then color parts in by hand rather than on the computer before printing them. Does anyone know what group of materials I need to be able to do this? Do I need matte paper and watercolor pencils or is there anotther way out?

In my photography sure, we took a black and white print, and colored them with special photo pencils. They arent THAT vibrant but they work smashing. You can get them in specialty camera stores, or in a art supply store.

I would buy online, Marshalls is the best brand.
