Dealers take stock as Cash for Clunkers mania winds down Lancaster Eagle Gazette

Several neighbouring dealerships, including Taylor Team of Dealerships, Bob Boyd Auto Family and Buckeye Honda, are waiting to come into at least a portion of the government's reimbursement. Automakers are also trying to refill the lots of local dealers, which were depleted by the guidance program.

Taylor Team of Dealerships Vice President Milt Taylor said dealing with "inconveniences" of Sell for Clunkers are well worth the program's sales boost. Taylor's vehicle inventory is less than half of rational levels, which is both good and bad.

"Right now, at this moment, they are so low that when you don't have a lot of inventory it can be tough to match a customer with a car," he said. "But it's a large time of the year as we approach the model year changeover and (fall and winter) traditionally has been a slower convenience life period."

Cash for Clunkers enticed hundreds of thousands of people to dealers in July and August by present government rebates of up to $4,500 to trade in older, less efficient vehicles for newer, more fuel-economic cars.

I got into an auto fluke while driving at a snails pace through a store lot;the other person backed into me at close range; I honked my horn as speedily as I realized- but she continued on! At first she did not want to wait for the police, I insisted we wait. She called our mutual cover co. to report it. Initially she admitted 100% fault-to me. I spoke w/ the ins. rep. but refused to do claims adjuster q&a; answered the key identifying ?'s & confirmed that we were wearing our seatbelts; I provided my policy # to the rep. on the phone. Ltr I realized that the rep did not provide me with a contend number. I called the insco. back- the rep let it slip that I would need to go through claim q&a because my story of "she hit me" differed from what she had told. The hitter told them she was half way out into the lot when we connected--- tiresome to make it sound mutual! Untrue! End result, she got cited and the cop busted her for lying based on the phys manifest.
What should i do now!!!

Let the indemnity adjustor and company handle it. You win. Person backing out is always wrong. You had the right of way which is why the Police ticketed her. Not only did she lie but she is also speechless for thinking she could blame you. That's like coming out of a parking space on the street.

Let the surety company know that the other person got cited for being at fault. If you contact the police department they can either give a copy of send it to your cover company so they can verify it wasnt your fault.
