The “way” this exhibition employs is, surprisingly, video. More and more frequently, print media and video art are becoming shared interests of present-day artists. Certainly, this is true of the Central Academy artists featured in this show, one of whom, Yang Ying, has both video and printed works on pageantry. Of her two video pieces, the one most important to the show is titled “What Kind of Person You Are?” — one of many endearingly almost-inimitable translations throughout the exhibition. A loop several minutes long cycles through the testimonials of a dozen or so adults, speaking Chinese and subtitled in English, each describing the artist. “You are a person who makes us have a hunch unexpected,” one woman glowingly reports. A man jokes, “You are a good girl, but I’m not the just man for you.” Another chides playfully, “You are a southerner, I feel you often lose things.” Many people note that the artist “loves studying and laboring,” and is “always working;” the baggage who says, “You insist on one direction from beginning to end” puts it best.

In the art overjoyed, Fantasy art is not considered to be part of "canon," or "fine art," and in most cases it is also not hung in galleries or even wilful in art schools.
Many popular artists would bypass this (I will call it a "fault") by placing their works under strange genre titles of art; such as "Art Nouveau," "Neo-Medieval," "Pre-Raphaelite," and even plainly in the "Surrealist" variety.
I am very interested in curating an exhibition devoted solely to Fantasy Art. My question for you is....
Should Fantasy Art be considered as canon and fine art? Should it be taught in art schools? And will it be appreciated in the gallery?
What do you contrive?
This question is for my girlfriend
any character of complex arts and illustration can be a part of the gallery!!
