How should I try to sell my art?

I'm 14 and do some somewhat good artwork, but i can't have a job to make art because my inspiration comes and goes.

What's a good way to sell my art? There's an art gallery downtown, but will people even buy from there, if my art is careful enough?

And how do i go about putting it in the gallery?

Thanks!
ok just answer.
no matter if you say stuff about "childhood" i'll moral go find answers elsewhere.. so you might as well answer.

The only be fulfilled way to get your stuff in a gallery, regardless of your age, is to send out samples of your work. You going to want to send out slides or a moderate to read disc of photos of your work.

Honestly, your going to get more No's then a Yes when you so this. Sadly, rejection is half of the Art Terra. And not the good half either!

I would ask one of your Art teachers to help you with this.

If you want to make some cash, try a site like Cafe Paparazzi or Zazzle. A lot of local artists sell their images on site like these. Since your under the age of 18, your going to need a PARENTS or Custodian to help you with this.

When I was in high School, I sold T-shirts and name signs to my friends in school. I was always shocked by how many kids bought my m??? Especially the T-shirts!

I was an excellent artist in High School. Some teachers thought my ideas were sharp-witted, some of my art teachers thought I could use some work. Regardless, I made enough money to make my high school years fun! That all that event to me.

Good Luck!!!

what to do to sell more paintings in an art gallery?

i m in an art gallery, and my goal is to sell more painting than we do now
what could i do to get more people interested in buying paintings
and how do i go about selling a painting, since they are usually very dear, and its not something people need,
so i dont know if i should push them or let them just admire it, since also a lot of people that come to the gallery are there not to buy, but simply to look at the art
i just want to know a way i can sell more paintings, without being annoying, or making it to obious that i am desperate to sell, and again how would i get or find more people to buy the paintings

i already have lots of advertisment, sent invitations to our exhibitions, and have a slight feel embarrassed data base of potential buyers, i want to know what can i do besides what ive already done
thank you

No amount of convincing will move a human being to buy if he is not in the market for art.

I am an art collector myself, and I regularly check out what is in the gallery. But I will not buy unless there is a particular reason for me at that moment - - like maybe to send to the gallows art in a new room I have just created. Or if I am re-doing a room, and the exisitng painting does not anymore facsimile the theme.

Still, I ocassionally buy even when I do not intend to buy, with emphasis on OCCASIONALLY. Like when a painting from a master is available, and I privation to snatch it pronto before someone takes interest. But there are very few who collect even when there is no functional reason, like when there is no space to hang the vocation in.

Stay with your regular clientele. My curator calls me every so often, and invites me to cocktails in the gallery. Especially when a renowned painter is scheduled to on the store. And I have bought quite a lot in this gallery because I know that the curator knows art, and knows wherof he speaks.
